How! Well, my last post was about how I got my mission call to France

This Is Maria, one of our AMAZING Amis de L'eglise ( In French, we call investigators "friends of the church")

This is the Canal de Brienne, BEAUTIFUL canal running through the heart of Toulouse.
I spent a wonderful 6 months in France before needing to come home because of re-injuring and old injury in my ankle, multiple times. When ya can't walk, you unfortunately cannot be a missionary in France. A LOT of walking is involved. I flew home on September 14th. Was honorably released from my mission (couldn't have a "companion" with me 24/7) Started the what we didn't realize then, would be a LONG process to getting it fixed.

Doctors say that the old injury injury never healed, (probably because it was over looked, never went to the doctor for what I thought was a sprained ankle) and that I have been walking on a BROKEN ankle for nearly 2 1/2 years. My ankle is broken SO deep in my ankle that no x-ray, MRI, or CT scan could even see it. i finally got a bone scan, which showed that something is going on! The MRI showed that I have scar tissue and arthritis all throughout my ankle.
After being put into a cast for 6 weeks, non-weight bearing, with a bone growth stimulator. Nothing had changed. So now we are waiting on a second option from another doctor to see what he thinks we should do. (Our doctor is being EXTRA careful...joy)
We are just playing the waiting game!

Because I have so much time on my hands and have found Pinterest. I have a whole lot to do and try. I hope to share all my creations and fun outings with everyone!
I'll be making another post of all the things I have made already on Pinterest. As soon as my homemade Reeses Peanut Butter cups are done, which are cooling in the freezer as I type!

It has been quite the journey.

As many of you know I moved back home to finish preparing for my mission and MAYBE even turn my papers in!
WELL...
A month ago, I received my mission call to the France Toulouse Mission. I enter the MTC (Missionary Training Center) on April 6th. so yes, I have 4 weeks left.
I had the amazing opportunity to attend the temple for the first time this last Saturday, and loved it.
I can't wait to start this next chapter in my life!
Love you all!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This Christmas was wonderful! It was so good to be around family for the Holidays. Last night, as a Christmas tradition, we went to look for Christmas lights. We found the most AMAZING Christmas lights I had EVER seen. It was a whole street, called Bainbridge Falls, that had at LEAST 11 houses all lit up and synchronized to music. This is my first time loading a video from YouTube onto my blog, so if this doesn't work, give me a few tries to figure it out. =)

They had their own radio station, you tuned to it in your car and drove up and down the street, seeing the amazing lights. It truely got me and my family into the Christmas mood. It was wonderful opportunity to be with my family, enjoying the lights, and the music. There were SO many cars in the line to drive down the street, so we parked, and walked. I am so glad we did it, they had the music playing as we walked down the street.
When I woke up this morning around 7:30, I quickly wrapped my gifts for my family and put them under the tree. My family came down and we proceeded to open presents and see what Santa had brought us!! Little did we know that Dallin had in fact woken up in the wee hours of the morning to see what presents awaited him, snatched his new iPod Nano up, and was playing with it quietly in his room until everyone else woke up. Now, I'm not talking early like, 6am, I am talking EARLY as in about 3:30am! Santa had to have just left, wouldn't be surprised if h
e saw him squishing back up the fireplace!
Dallin and I got Anaheim Ducks Jerseys, Dallin's Jersey is Ryan Getzlaf #15 game jersey. My Jersey is just a basic Ducks game jersey, and I LOVE IT! We are BIG hockey fans here in the Ovard house, We love the Ducks most of all, but are also fans of Vancouver Canucks, Washington Capitals (Yeah Ovechkin!), and the Pittsburgh Penguins (Yeah Crosby!) But that is for a whole different post.
I tried to get Dallin to pose for a picture, but he wouldn't have it. Even when he did, he wouldn't smile. So forget it!
We got a new TV for Christmas, really nice LCD Flat screen, it's so CLEAR! So of course the first movie we watch is Avatar, with the surround sound and crisp image, it is AMAZING!

I have so much to be grateful for this Holiday Season.
I hope every one of you have a fabulous Christmas and New Years.

Fly, Fly, Fly.

I really cannot believe it has be OVER a year since I posted on my blog. It does not seem like that long ago, time really does fly! Well, In the mean time, a lot has happened! My roommate Tyese was married to one of my greatest friends Steven Blackhurst on October 21st 2010. They are an adorable couple, their reception was very elegant and beautiful and Tyese was as GORGEOUS as ever.
Living in Salt Lake City was wonderful. I loved being so close to relatives that I originally had only seen once a year. I was working as a stylist at Great Clips and a very quaint little salon in the area. Both locations were very close to home, very convenient.

Allison, Tyese, and I became very good friends. We did everything together! The best roommates I had ever had, friendships that will last a life time. We took a liking to a restaurant nearby by the name of Hoppers, to which we were frequent diners.
On my last night in Utah Tyese, Jessica, Allison, and I met at hoppers and enjoyed each others company, laughing the night away!

The LDS ward I was involved in was a very LARGE but very well organized University singles ward. That is where I started my paperwork to serve an LDS mission. Shortly after that I returned home to California and have been here just over a month!
Tonight is Christmas Eve and everyone in my house is anxious to see what we will be greeted by in the morning. Dad has been asking for it to be Christmas for a couple days now. He knows what's coming and is anxious to see what SANTA will bring!
I hope your Christmas Eve is as thrilling as mine is becoming!

Bathroom reading

So I have been living in my new place for about a week now. I love my roommates and my house is AWESOME!
On the bathroom closet there is a quote by President Monson that reads:
"Out of the darkness and horror of Calvary came the voice of the Lamb saying "Father into Thy hands I commend my spirit." And the dark was no longer dark, for he was with his father. He had come from God, and to Him He had returned. So also those who walk with God in this earthly pilgrimage know from blessed experience that He will not abandon His children who trust in Him. In the night of death, His presence will be "better than a light and safer than a known way."
-President Monson
And then below that it had a few different sayings, such as:
"You're Loved!"
"Stay Strong!"
"Be happy"
I feel so blessed that I found this house so quickly. With all the things happening in my life right now I know that this is where I am supposed to be.
Work is going well, it's a little slow but I am sure it will pick up. I have very high hopes for this week. =)
I will post pictures of my house sooner or later, I have taken some, I just need to find my cord. =)
